COACH JADEN GERDING
VICE PRESIDENT, CO-FOUNDER, & HEAD DISTANCE COACH
USATF Level 1 Distance Certified Coach, Background Checked & SafeSport Approved
As a dedicated runner, coach, and track and field enthusiast, I have a deep passion for the sport and the science behind performance. I prioritize scientific integrity in coaching, analyzing emerging research and data yearly to ensure my athletes receive the most effective training strategies. However, I also recognize that science doesn’t always tell the whole story—each athlete is unique, and I tailor my coaching approach to fit their individual needs.
My journey in track and field began at Cypress Ranch High School, where I earned offers to compete at the collegiate level. Unfortunately, a devastating knee injury ended my competitive career, but my love for the sport never wavered. I quickly found a new purpose in coaching, working with athletes who were willing to learn and grow alongside me.
A pivotal moment in my coaching career came when I met Harold Stewart, whose mentorship has been instrumental in shaping my approach and deepening my knowledge of the sport. That experience solidified my commitment to coaching and developing athletes at the highest level.
In addition to coaching, I work as a Physical Therapy Technician at Advanced Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, where I collaborate daily with physical therapists to enhance athletes’ recovery and performance. I am also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Exercise Science, further strengthening my expertise in both the business and scientific aspects of sports performance.Contact Information: jaden.gerding@txctf.com

COACH SPENCER SMALL
GIRLS SPRINT COACH
Background Checked & Safesport Approved
My name is Spencer Small and I have firsthand knowledge of sprint training and technique both on the track and in the gym starting with my high school years as the top sprinter for three years including a fourth place finish in the Ohio State Meet big schools division 100m my senior year. I have continued to remain an active athlete and learn how to improve speed development while training my high school daughter in the gym and giving her some competition on the track. For me, being an athlete is a lifelong lifestyle. I still consider myself a sprinter and will compete in some Masters sprint events during the spring/summer 2025.
In addition to my sprinting background, I have 14 years of award-winning teaching experience teaching mostly math to middle and high school students. I have a passion for getting students to learn both inside and outside the classroom with a holistic approach, teaching the “whole” person and seeing each student as an individual. As a husband and father of six, I’ve spent many years and seasons coaching several different sports for my kids’ teams.
